About this title
Synopsis:Naturally when one goes through a tragic situation and God miraculously comes through for the person the story is always expected to be told primarily to glorify God. It is also expected that the profoundness of such testimony should spur others on to put their trust in God. However, more often readers of such tragic narratives of God’s intervention only offer their sympathy, but lessons learnt from the person’s dealings with God are normally lost on them; and that is it! The story ends there. Naturally when one goes through a tragic situation and God miraculously comes through for the person the story is always expected to be told primarily to glorify God. It is also expected that the profoundness of such testimony should spur others on to put their trust in God. However, more often readers of such tragic narratives of God’s intervention only offer their sympathy, but lessons learnt from the person’s dealings with God are normally lost on them; and that is it! The story ends there. Christians continually quote the Scripture that says “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” – Romans 8:28. So what is the good in tragic or traumatic situations that happen to Christians? This book In God’s Isolation Chamber tries to answer that question. God has a reason allowing things to happen to us. Indeed some things we have to go through are meant to enable us become the persons God wants us to be. He can turn our worst tragedies into our greatest testimonies through the lessons we carefully and consciously glean from them. We may never understand His wisdom fully, so we only have to trust him when we go through such situations. This book discusses the lessons I learned from the experience of going through a quadriplegic condition, how I coped with the challenges it brought with it and how God chose to bring about the healing. Ultimately the greatest lesson learned was to praise God in good times and in bad times as well, because the Lord is sovereign and He does what pleases Him in heaven, on the earth and under the sea; indeed to whomever He wishes. And that is what the book seeks to encourage all Christians going through difficult situations to do – there is always a reason to praise God no matter the circumstance. Psalm 135:6
